Job Summary
This position will be part of the International IT Team supporting day-to-day user and server administration and network support in the Bangalore office, as well as supporting regional servers and network infrastructure across Asia. This position will also be involved in supporting longer-term projects across the region.

The Technical Environment
The desktop computing environment consists of PC's running Windows 7 and Linux, and Apple Macs.
The server environment consists of HP servers running VMware vSphere, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Linux.
Support includes, but is not limited to, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades and installation of network, server, and desktop hardware and software.

Responsibilities
Support local IT infrastructure, desktops and users
Support of local and regional software development processes, data transfers and associated activities
Support of regional infrastructure (Unix / Windows / network)
Participation in regional and worldwide IT projects


Qualifications Required / Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
8+ years of Linux/Unix administration for an international business, with experience in Windows and network administration
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
Knowledge of enterprise storage systems, including DAS, NAS, and SAN
Experience administering and supporting Windows Server, including file and print servers
Experience with VMware ESX/vSphere virtual servers
Experience with distributed network file systems and file sharing protocols, including DFS, NFS, and CIFS
Strong knowledge of networking principles and LAN, WiFi and WAN network administration
Knowledge of network infrastructure services such as DHCP and DNS
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, including ability to create and interpret network traces
Excellent general troubleshooting and problem solving skills, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to Unix, Windows and Networking at a senior level
Network and server monitoring using tools and protocols such as Nagios, Cacti, and SNMP
Ability to write scripts in a variety of languages – shell, Perl, PowerShell, VBScript, etc.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced team environment, including the ability to work one to one and in groups on complex technical issues (face to face, over the phone, and via video conference call)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience working within a software development organization
Experience working closely with business areas and being the liaison for the IT team (relationship building)
Experience working for an international business over a wide geography and multiple time zones
Ability to work alone, but also as a member of both large and small teams
Experience of working at all levels (from desktop support up to regional and company-wide)
Experience working with, coaching, and training other technical staff
Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
Customer focused with a dedication to customer satisfaction
Strong initiative, self-motivation, ability to complete tasks on time
Excellent judgment, decision making, and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision
